Heart Your Heart Course a huge success

Disability Resource Centre recently concluded a training course in personal health issues called Heart Your Heart. The course was aimed at people who had heart conditions, were at risk of developing heart conditions or were family members of a person in these at risk groups. Twenty three people successfully completed the 6 week course which started in March 2013. 
 
The course was followed up with a session from West Midlands Fire Service on the practical aspects of Heart Start Training.  
 

DRC celebrates 20 years with a birthday party

Disability Resource Centre celebrated our 20th anniversary on December 3rd 2012 (International Day of Disabled People) with a birthday party for staff, volunteers and service users at our Information Health and Wellbeing Centre in Mackadown Lane, Kitts Green.

The party was an enjoyable occasion with food, music and a pop quiz marking the music of the year 1992 in which the organisation first opened its doors at Bierton Road in Yardley. 

Deaf Access Centre to open at DRC head office

A free service for deaf people in Birmingham is due to open at the Disability Resource Centre at the organisation's head office in Edgbaston on Friday 14th September 2012.
