CHIEF EXECUTIVE & COMPANY SECRETARY

Louise Simmons ACIS; PG Dip (Prof Admin)

Role: To work with the Board of Directors to provide strategic leadership and sound management practices within quality frameworks in the areas of policy & development, human resource management and general management.

CENTRAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT

Role:  To act as the first point of contact for service users either telephoning or visiting the Centre.  To provide general administrative support for BDRC staff and tenants.  To provide administrative and financial support to the Chief Executive and Senior Management Team.

Information Resources Division

Role: To provide a range of resources/information on up-to-date disability related issues and to provide an effective general disability information service for disabled people, their support networks, organisations and individuals in Birmingham.

Products and services for marketing and sale to business and organisations.

Role: To manage the Business Services Department. To develop the BDRC’s marketing and selling activities.  To market and sell disability equality and other training.  To develop and sell a contract-based range of services to employers including physical access audits, assistive technology, reasonable job adjustments.  To work with employers to improve and create job opportunities for disabled people, by reducing barriers to employment and developing suitable policies and practices.

Role: To design/deliver disability equality and other training to external organisations.  To undertake access audits and provide advice & guidance to organisations on how to overcome barriers disabled people face to accessing goods and services.  To assist in the identification, design and delivery of training appropriate to the needs of BDRC staff and volunteers.
