Overview of Training Day
This training provides the attendee a better understanding of issues for disabled people and a basic knowledge and understanding of duties under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995
Aims of the day
- to provide an insight into the Social Model of Disability
- to present guidelines on disability etiquette and terminology
- to dispel some of the myths and fears about disabled people
- to provide employers with an understanding of their legal requirements under the DDA
- to outline what are "reasonable adjustments" for employers to provide
