Get help to use this website
This site has been designed to be easy to use and accessible. If you are having difficulties you may find the information in this section useful.
We are always trying to improve the usability and accessibility of our website, and particularly welcome feedback from visitors who have special requirements or use access technology.
Using this web site
Website Navigation
To help find your way around this web site you will find a menu across the top of every page. By using this menu you can jump to main areas of the website.
When you select a menu option a submenu will appear on the top the left hand side initially listing all the pages you can visit in this section.
You will notice that when your mouse pointer is over a link, your computer will automatically change your mouse cursor into a hand. To help further we have designed the site so that the colour of the link text changes when a pointer hovers over it. This can often help sighted users to navigate more easily.
Breadcrumb Trail
Directly underneath the main menu towards the top the page you will find a feature commonly called a breadcrumb trail. A breadcrumb trail helps visitors to see where they are in the website. If I were visiting the page BDRC's History (in the About BDRC section) then the breadcrumb trail might look like this:
Home → About BDRC → BDRC's History
The Home hyperlink will take you back to the home page, the About BDRC hyperlink will take you back to start of the About BDRC section.
Website Search
If you're trying to find information about a specific topic the website search facility often yields the quickest results. Sighted users will find the search facility on the top right hand side of the page.
Non mouse-users and non-sighted visitors can get to the search facility quickly by using a shortcut key (called an Accesskey):
- Windows users hold down the ALT key and press the number 4
- Mac users hold down the CTRL key and press the number 4
Type in your search query and press the keyboard enter button or click 'Go' with the mouse.
